About Me!

Hi! My name is Skylar Snyder and I'm a teenager based in Southern California.

I published "Benny the Bunny's Big Race" when I was 17, dedicating it to my little brother.

Watching my younger brother grow up with ADHD, I saw him face challenges with not only his day to day activities, but the people around him. With misunderstandings, lack of patience, and childhood naivety, many peers didn't realize what it meant to learn and live with ADHD.

Throughout the years, I've seen him learn more about the accommodations that work for him to thrive.

Benny's story came to life in hopes of creating a digestible understanding of ADHD,  neurodivergence, and accommodations for a younger audience.  I hope that in classrooms, libraries, and homes, Benny's story can resonate and create open conversation for learning and expressing emotions.

Outside of writing, I love to indulge in arts of all mediums such as painting, sketching, filmmaking, photography, and public speaking!

Art bleeds into all aspect of my life and how I advocate for what matters to me!

Mind Matters is a club I founded in my senior year of high school. It further develops the mission of informing others about neurodivergence, accommodations, and the history behind both, mixing research with creativity.

Mind Matters needs high schoolers throughout the world to expand on this mission. If this message calls out to you or someone you know, you can create your own chapter for your school! Click on the linked form below and/or contact our instagram @mindmatters.mm to start your chapter today!
